If you want to become a doctor but not a simple doctor, I mean an Army doctor, then you can. It’s simple. You don’t need to stress out. Like applying for MBBS or BDS, you can apply for an army medical cadet. The requirements are similar, and also the MDCAT test, just registration and the further procedure is changed.
The registration is open now, and you can apply until July 15, 2022. Once the registration ends, the Medical Cadet 2022 selection starts, and once you are selected, you have to perform further procedures to get enrolled.

Medical Cadet 2022 Selection Started
The registration has been started, but the question is how to apply and what actually you need for registration. Let’s discuss the whole procedure.
Courses you can join.
As registration is open from now, you can apply for either of the two courses.
- MBBS: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery I 5 years of education
- BDS: Bachelor of Dental Surgery I 4 years of education.
Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria are divided into two parts.
Candidate personal criteria
- Applicants must be unmarried.
- All Pakistanis are eligible to apply without any discrimination.
- The applicant’s age must be between 17 and 21 years old, with three months’ grace in both the lower and upper age ranges.
- The candidate’s weight should be determined by BMI (Body Mass Index).
- The candidate’s minimum height should be 5 feet 4 inches (162.5 cm) minimum
- Candidates with vision 6/6 without glasses and at a distance if your vision is 6/9 or 6/12 with glasses, you can be eligible for the test. If your close vision is J2, J7, or N8, N12 with or without glasses, you can apply for AMC.
Education criteria
- Applicant must have a minimum grade of C in A-Level or 70 percent in FSc (Pre-Medical).
- All the candidates from the following regions who have obtained 65% or above marks can apply.
- Balochistan
- Sind (District Tharparkar, Omar Kot)
- Northern Areas
- FATA
- Azad Kashmir (Upper Neelam Valley)
- All students who have completed their O & A levels have to submit a mark conversion certificate and an equivalent certificate from (IBCC) Ministry of Education Islamabad. This certificate is necessary to attach with their application forms.
- If your 2nd Year result has not been announced and you have only your 1st Year result with 70% or above marks, you can still apply by submitting a “Hope Certificate” with your other documents. Your institution will issue this certificate. Once you get your result card/ Mark sheet for the 2nd Year, you have to submit it within one week after the result is announced. Remember, you will be disqualified if your second-year grades are less than 70%.
In-eligibility criteria
- There are some things that make you in-eligible for getting admission to the Army Medical College. Those points are mentioned below.
- If a candidate declared not recommended twice by ISSB or GHQ
- If CMH / Appeal Medical Board declares a candidate medically unfit, he will not participate.
- If a candidate is affected by Hepatitis B & C, he can’t get admission to AMC.
- If any enrolled candidate has withdrawn/ discharged/ resigned/ dismissed from any armed force training academy or institute (Army, Air force or Navy) due to any of the following reasons
- Character
- Discipline
- Medical problem
- Inefficiency
- Weak profile
- unsuitable
- Candidate’s own request
- If a candidate is terminated from any government job or service, he will not be able to participate.
- If a candidate is found guilty of a crime involving moral turpitude in a court of law, he will not be part of the AMC.
Last date to apply
The deadline for applying for a Medical Cadet is July 15, 2022. All applicants interested in applying for army medical cadet registration in 2022 are encouraged to do so before the deadline.
How to apply for Medical Cadet
There are two ways to register one is an online registration, and the other is by visiting the nearest Army Selection & Recruitment Centre (AS&RC).
Online
You can register by visiting the official website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. The date and time of the exam will be announced on the internet, and the participant must have an e-mail account to participate. On a computerized roll no slip, candidates will report on the precise date and time for the preliminary exam. Once a date is set, there is no chance of modification. Candidates must also bring the required documents (as listed in the advertising) and pay the prospectus fee on the examination day. Because the candidate will perform registration and testing on computers, they must have a functional understanding of computers.
Army Selection & Recruitment Centre (AS&RC)
Army Selection and Recruitment Centres are where you may register. To complete the registration process, candidates should submit to their local AS&RCs for registration/getting roll number and the required documentation (as specified in the advertising) and the prospectus fee. On the day of the test, you have to bring the required documents with you.
Documents required during registration
- Attested photocopy of your matriculation certificate
- O’ Levels/A’ Levels students submitted their equivalent certification from IBCC.
- Also, attach one attested copy of your computerized CNIC or NADRA Form B.
- Attach attested copies of the following certificates
- FSc Part-I (Pre-Medical) marks certificate
- “Hope” certificate from the college principal, if your result is still pending.
- Otherwise, submit the attested copy of the detail mark sheet (DMC)
- Past the attested passport-size photograph on your application form
- Instead of Bank drafts and pay orders, you have to submit crossed postal orders for Rs. 100.00 to the DGPA (Director-General Personnel Administration) at the GHQ (General Headquarters) in Rawalpindi.

Computer Test
In this test, you have to answer the multiple-choice questions related to English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics subjects, and verbal and non verbal questions. Candidates who pass this exam will be subjected to physical and medical examinations at AS&RCs.
Physical test
Physical Examinations Candidates must pass the following physical tests to be considered:
- 9 minutes for a 1.6 km run
- 15 repetitions of Push-ups in 2 minutes
- 20 repetitions of sit-ups in 2 minutes
- 3 repetitions of chin-ups in 2 minutes
- 7.4″ x 7.4″ and 4′ deep Ditch Crossing
Preliminary Medical test
Candidates will undergo a Medical test at ASRC centers. Army doctors will complete the candidate evaluation. On the other hand, the test include weight, height, vision and some other examinations.
Personality test/ Interview
They will be given a Performa after passing all of the above tests. GHQ will contact qualified individuals in September and October to schedule a two-day personality test.
Day 1: The candidate must pass a written intelligence test as well as other personality assessments on the first day.
Day 2: The candidate must pass a quick interview on the second day in order to be considered for the final selection.
It’s also worth noting that only medical cadet candidates who passed the initial intelligence test are eligible to take the academic exam.
Final Medical test
Once the candidate passes all of the medical cadet course assessments and also the final interview at GHQ is subjected to a thorough medical examination at the nearby Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Final merit list
You can check the final selected applicants’ list for MBBS/BDS displayed in AMC after the final medical examination.
Sign a bond
After graduation from Army Medical College Rawalpindi, passing candidates must sign a bond to serve in the Pakistan Army for at least 13 years.
Get military training
After completing MBBS/BDS, every graduate of an army medical college goes through a 22-week Basic Military Training program at the Army Medical Corps School and Center Abbottabad, which the GHQ PA Directorate runs.
